Though the Nintendo's revamped DSi has been out with its new music playback function supports audio files in AAC format, DS users prefer using Moonshell as NDS music playback. The latest version of Moonshell, which is a homebrew media player, supports MP1, MP2, MP3, OGG, WAV, M4A, AAC, WMA, TTA, MID, RCP and R36 files.

To play music on NDS, first download and install Moonshell on your NDS. Follow the steps below to put music files onto NDS and play music in Moonshell

Step 1. Download and install Moonshell on your NDSL

Download Moonshell to your hard drive, copy 'moonshl2.nds' and '/moonshl2' folder onto the root folder of MicroSD.

Step 2. Put music files onto NDS

Copy the music files to '/moonshl2' folder of MicroSD. Plug the MicroSD into your flash card and turn on your NDS.

Step 3. Play music in Moonshell on NDS

Launch Moonshell.nds on your NDS, and load the music file.
