How do I make an MP3 CD instead of audio CD with a free CD burner?

Software you need: CDBurnerXP
Step 1: Download and install CDBurnerXP
Download CDBurnerXP here and follow the installation wizard to install it on your computer. Double-click the short-cut on the desktop to launch the burner.
Step 2: Select Audio Disc, put .mp3 files onto an CD
To create such a compilation select Audio Disc, from the startup screen.
The Compilation Window is different from the one seen under Data compilations, to accommodate information for the audio tracks. Note that the only structure allowed on audio discs is the order of the tracks.
If you use drag and drop to add multiple audio tracks, keep in mind that the track you start dragging with will always be the first one in the track list. So if you want to maintain the correct order, always drag a selection of audio tracks at the first track of the selection.
If you would like to listen to a track, you don't have to revert to an audio player, check Play Audio Track. There is also the option to add, or drag and drop, a playlist file, such as M3U or WPL. The tracks within the playlist will be added to the compilation. Check the capacity bar on the bottom of the window, where each track is separated from the next with a vertical line.
Step 3: Burn CD with mp3 files
Once you are finished click on the Burn button . A new window will appear with three options:
The Add a pause between each track adds a two second pause between tracks, this uses TAO.
The Create a gapless disc has a continuous playback. Both these options will start the burning process immediately.
To avoid that, select Let me choose advanced settings. Read more on the topic on Burn Options of the help file.
