Software you need: the Windows Registry Editor
" I always accidentally turned the Num Lock on, so that I can't operate the keyboard properly. Is there any way can disable or enable the Num Lock key at startup? Can anybody help me? Your help will be highly appreciate!"
The state of the Num Lock key can be specified by users, and the key is disabled by default. If you want to disable or enable the Num Lock key, before pressing the "Ctrl+Alt+Del " key to login to the Windows, you should change the default behavior by editing the Windows registry. But you should know the Windows registry and potential problems may occur if you edited improperly.
Step by step: How to disable or enable the Num Lock key at startup?
Here we will show you one of ways to disable or enable the Num Lock key at startup.
Step1 Open the Windows registry editor.
Click " Start" menu, click " Run " , then type " regedit " to open it.
Step2 Find out the keyboard folders
In the registry, open the below folders which are listed on the left panel. Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ > Control Panel\ > Keyboard\
Step3 Edit the Windows registry editor.
In the right hand pane double click “InitialKeyboardIndicators” and set “Value data:” to 0 to have NumLock disabled, or 2 to have NumLock enabled at startup.

Note: Below is the explanation of each of these values.
0 = Num Lock is turned OFF after the logon.
1 = Disable Num Lock.
2 = Numlock is turned ON after the logon.
Besides the above recommendations, you can also change the state of the Num Lock when the computer first boots up, for instance, set the computer CMOS, or disable/enable the Num Lock key with NumLocker which is a professional application for this things.
